making your own glazes will not only save you money but is also an important aspect in developing your own unique look and creating a cohesive line of work. The course is split into 4 full days Day one: - Course overview - Tools - Basic introduction to raw materials that make a glaze and their function. - Starting a glaze notebook for your glazy adventures - Discussion about types of glazes - Picking a few glazes to test from glazy.org/understanding a glaze recipe Day Two: - how to calculate a recipe for a particular batch size - mixing up a few test batches of glazes you picked - measuring specific gravity - making test tiles Day Three: - analizing our test results - Picking our best test glaze - In depth look at glaze materials - Disecting the glaze - Testing different oxides, pigment and addatives - creating line blends and triaxel blends to get the glaze just how you want it. Day Four: - analysing our results / look at glaze umf / stull map - talk about glaze defects -
